There are many problems in the recovery tool provided by Google like "Download interrupted" etc...
So I Managed to get the URLs of the .bin file so that we can manually download the recovery image and flash it to USB directly by using Recovery tool in offline......
These are free,High speed and resumable Download Links.

Download the zip file according to your Chromebook name and extract it and add it as local image in recovery tool .

Install or Recover Your Chrome book :-
4GB + USB disk or SD is needed
Plug in the usb and format it.............
Then download recovery tool from here : Download (911 KB)
Open the Recovery tool as administrator and cancel the 9mb download

and you will get a window like this.....
Then Goto Options and Select use local image file and navigate to extracted .bin file and select it.....
Then click next... now the recovery tool will write the recovery image on your USB.............
after this process completes remove the USB by Safely Remove Hard ware.........
- At the "Chrome OS is missing or damaged" screen, insert the recovery media into the USB port or SD card slot on your Chromebook.
- If you want, you can reinstall the operating system without seeing the error screen by going into recovery mode. See the "Troubleshooting tips" section below.
- The operating system will install automatically. When it finishes, you’ll see a message to remove your recovery media.
- After you remove the recovery media, your Chromebook will automatically restart.
Because all of your data has been cleared, you’ll need to sign in to your Chromebook as you did when it was new.
To get back your USB use HP Disk Format tool link : Download (96 KB) (Run the app as administrator)

DeleteYup, The Chromebook Recovery Utility is pretty bad. I asked Google for a copy of the script. I don't know what is actually running in recovery mode, but I know that it is looking for a uncompressed, raw filesystem, so this bin file is something for the Utility itself.

Hi, cannot see listed the image for my HP 14 chromebook (Falco model). I tried the HP 14 G3 link you provide but once the image was created the Recovery Utility it wasn't recognised by the chromebook as recovery image (I also tried by using another drive).

Thats link is only for G3 model . It wont work with the falco model .... we are getting these link directly from google but now they stopped for the previous models of HP ... we will find out and it will be updated here soon

Tried using the image for my C720, but complained that it was out-of-date. Some google searching brought me to a GitHub repo, with a perl script to get the latest recovery image. If you download
